Qigong Foundations with Emily Morrison

Qigong Foundations: Rooting, Breath & Form with Emily Morrison, LAc

Saturday, July 12th, 10 am - 1 pm, $95 or Sliding Scale $45 - $95

Whether you're brand new to Qigong or have an existing practice you'd like to deepen, this workshop offers a grounded, embodied space to reconnect—with your body, your breath, and the living energy that moves through everything.

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a movement and meditation practice rooted in Chinese medicine and Daoist philosophy. Through simple, powerful movements, breath, and awareness, it supports vitality, emotional clarity, and a deeper sense of balance and ease.

Together, we’ll explore:
Standing and seated meditation to settle the nervous system and cultivate presence
Postural alignment for healthy joints, especially the feet, ankles, knees, and spine
Breath and movement as a reflection of expansion, contraction, and natural rhythm
Foundational movements like Qi Washing, Post Holding, Tiger Plays with Ball, and Pressing Palm
Five Phases Qigong form (also called Five Element Qigong), a complete sequence to practice at home that helps cleanse and strengthen the organs and the channel pathways associated with each phase
Chinese medicine insights into the organ systems, channels, and energetic principles at the heart of the practice

There’s a unique kind of beauty and power in practicing Qigong together, in person. When our movements begin to sync, our breath syncs. When our breath syncs, our heartbeats begin to align. And when our heartbeats align, our electromagnetic fields begin to resonate. We become like a living acupuncture point—tuning and tonifying not just ourselves, but the collective field we’re creating together.

This space is open to all levels. You’ll be encouraged to listen to your own body as your guide, adjusting and modifying movements as needed. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s presence.

Come as you are. All bodies and levels of experience are welcome.

This workshop is led by Emily Morrison, LAc, a certified Qigong instructor and longtime practitioner of Chinese medicine and internal martial arts. Emily has been teaching Qigong for over 15 years and brings a depth of knowledge, sensitivity, and respect for individual embodiment to her teaching. Her classes are rooted in the belief that healing practices are most powerful when they are accessible, adaptable, and grounded in lived experience.
