Intro to Cranio Sacral Therapy
10am-12pm: Learn the foundations of cranio-sacral therapy through the lens of Chinese Medicine. Craniosacral therapy (CST), sometimes known as cranial sacral balancing, is a gentle hands-on therapy that aims to release tension and promote balance in the craniosacral system. This system includes the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding and protecting the brain and spinal cord. In this course, students will learn basic anatomy and begin to feel the cranial rhythm and adhesions within it, through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experience. This course is open to all levels, regardless of experience, and is for practitioners and non-practitioners alike. Intro to Tui Na Massage
1pm-3pm: Tuina, or Chinese Orthopedic Massage, is a therapeutic bodywork modality that involves various manual techniques to promote healing and wellness. The term "tuina" translates to "push" (Tui) and "grasp" (Na), reflecting the hands-on techniques used in this therapy. In this course, students will begin to learn Chinese medicine theory (Ying Yang, 5 Phases, and Zang-Fu/Organ Theory), foundational anatomy, and Taiwanese manual therapeutic protocols through lectures, demonstrations of techniques, and hands-on practice. This course is open to all levels, regardless of experience, and is for practitioners and non-practitioners alike.
